This is where the trash of the internet come out to play. What they post is exceedingly derogatory and immature. Most people, the completely sane minds, would not stray too far into it.

4Chan is, as many would say, the asshole of the internet.

Aside from this, 4Chan is also where every meme ever came from. Many of the things on 4Chan are horrible things (such as goatse). The very few gems that are actually funny make their way to other places on the internet.

This site is home to many Trolls, who use things like goatse and /That Series/ ("Of Warlords and Pleasures"), and other things that cannot be unseen to terrorize other sites through obscene spam. Most of these things are on /b/, which is basically the armory for Trolls. I recommend that, if you feel the urge to visit 4Chan, you leave any religious beliefs, morals and etcetera behind. Also, please make sure there is nothing nearby for you to kill yourself with, becaue you /will/ lose all hope.

Much like the Fight Club, you do not talk about 4Chan. Not ever.

The origin of almost any fucking internet meme you can think of. Site is filled with taboo porn, stupid pictures and other stupid shit.

A couple of examples include the Rick Roll and the motivational pictures. This site has gotten pretty old, and should die immediately because everything they put out is no longer funny, amirite?

A bunch of hackers, furries and loners (usually not by choice) who think they invented every internet meme there ever was.

A mistake

The worst invention in the world, bro. It's a totally oldschool website for noobs, nerds, and geeks of the internet. Don't get me wrong, there are totally radd noobs, nerds, and geeks, but users of 4Chan are totally not a part of that group.

A site that has disgusting pictures, along with disgusting people. This site consists of blogging, and complaining. Low life scum more commonly use this site. While more sophisticated, and morally correct people use tumblr.

Basically what Voldemort and Taliban would be as an Internet site, talking shit about 4Chan or even saying 4chan is forbidden on some forums because they're afraid that 4Chan members will pickup on it by Google search and wreck their sites. 4Chan is anonymous's stomping grounds and they're guys you don't want to fuck with, and they have the ability to ruin your life well pass the internet as they are quite skilled and cool hackers. They were even revving up to take on AT&T for a supposed site banning around late 2009.

Their latest thing has been the Jessi Slaughter fiasco, which everyone thought was going to be the end of 4Chan, but it wasn't. It also led to a war on Gawker.com that failed, not because the 4chan hackers suck, because Gawker got lucky and it was an unorganized raid on Gawker's servers, and some of Gawker's technicians caught it before it could go down.

The most random place on the internet. The plus side is there are no rules, you can vent away, and say and post the most fucked up things you want, and it's completely anonymous, there aren't even proper usernames. The downside to that is you will see some pretty fucked up shit. But you will also see lots of funny shit, and you can go on the particular area of the sites that suit your interests. Imagine reddit but more anonymous, and with more freedom of speech.
