The phase when you think you are in love, and possibly have sexual fantasies about the other person (unless you've already done it). between young and immature teenagers, of course there have been some cases reported of adults going through it to. If your reading this right now and older than 30, chances are you've already been through this once, and hopefully learned something.

1) The love between a young couple within a few weeks of getting together. Not really true love, more blind affection - immature, young love. Tyically occurs before one person becomes a bitch.

2) An act of beastiality. Usually illegal.

(n) Basically, "puppy love" is a term used to describe what many kids/teenagers/whatever call love, implying that they are incapable of the same type of true love that adults are capable of. However, "puppy love" is most likely equally common among adults.

Being in love with someone at an early age, a crush or admeration.

The act of developing a fake surface crush on somebody of the opposite sex, usually because you're too much of a pussy to actually speak to them. This is usually attributed to the large loner community. Due to their inability to make the approach and introduce themselves, these people resort to "watching" their crush from afar, daydreaming about them, etc. This usually leads to heavy depression once they're struck with the realization that they will never get to be with this person. However, it should be noted that the ecstasy these people feel upon visualizing their crush for the first few weeks is far more exciting than one could ever imagine. After the depression stage, the loner learns to accept his fate like he has done so many times in the past.

Love for the sake of loving.

A serious and deadly psychological disorder. When an unfortunate person is inflicted with "puppy love", their brain will quickly deteriorate. With what brain cells they have left, they focus on a particular person, whether it be a boyfriend/girlfriend or just a crush, and forget about anyone else. It is a leading cause of broken friendships and heartbreak.

"Puppy love" can be easily spotted. Common symptoms include, but are not limited to:

-Total and complete obsession with the object of this "puppy love"
-Sudden disinterest in friends, family, and hobbies
-When the inflicted uses words such as "it's love!" and "going to get married" and "live happily ever after"
-Relationships that move through the different levels at an alarmingly fast rate

"Puppy love", having been completely ignored by psychologists around the globe, has reached the state of an epidemic. No one is safe from it, and once a person has been contaminated, there is no hope. The only thing that can be done is to sit down and wait for it to take it's course. Very few survivors of this disorder are ever the way they used to be.

Puppy love is not like the love that one has for puppies. Nor is it like the love that puppies have for us. It is the love that one has at the "puppy" stage of a person's life. It is as genuine a case of love as any other. It is true love that never goes away, even if it falls below the conscious level. It becomes the model of what falling in love is like.
