One of the 16 subregions of Los Angeles County located in the southwestern corner of LA County next to the beach. As the South Bay is located in a southwestern pocket of LA, reaching as far away as 10-20 miles from interstate freeways such as the 405 and 110, providing for better preserved beaches that are reliably alleviated from the consistent group of tourists that crowd other beaches in LA/OC. Many of our northern cities are conveniently located next to the 405 and 110 freeways that bring you directly to downtown LA or other areas of SoCal that anyone would care to go to.Growing up here provides for a less “sheltered” upbringing in comparison to some regions of LA and compared to other areas of SoCal and in CA in general as you inevitably go to school with, work with, and befriend people from the region that belong to one end of the socioeconomic spectrum to another end.south bay
south bay is located south of lax, and north of long beach. the cities of the south bay consists of lawndale, hawthorne, san pedro, gardena, torrance, redondo beach, manhattan beach, el segundo, hermosa beach, wilmington, lomita, carson, harbor city, rpv, and pve. we got the la beaches, and access to the shittiest commute to the city (pch, 405, 91, 110)

The REAL South Bay (as opposed to the FAKE south bay --is there even a BAY there?!?!-- down in la-la land) is a subregion of the San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States and is roughly synonymous with Silicon Valley and the Santa Clara Valley. The South Bay encompasses the northern part of Santa Clara Valley and adjacent communities in the southern parts of the San Francisco Peninsula and East Bay. It now reaches approximately from San Mateo (on the Peninsula) and the Fremont/Newark area in the East Bay down through San Jose, centered roughly on Sunnyvale. The Highway 17 corridor through the Santa Cruz Mountains into Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz County is sometimes considered a part of Silicon Valley.

"South Bay hot" is a phrase used to describe the looks of a person who lives in Silicon Valley and is relatively attractive for the South Bay. Because of all of the tech firms in the area, the average looks are lower than is typical, so the standards are lower, too. A person who is a 6 in a major city, such as SF or LA, can be considered an 8 in the South Bay.
