Simply a person that is either on a competitive cheer team or represents their school's cheerleading squad.can be of any race or origin or any size.although it is rare to see an obese cheerleader because dancing combined with gymnastics and stunting usually will help any person get in shape.the typical "preppy ditzy slutty girl" label doesn't apply. i know plenty of girls that cheer and get great grades, dress different from abercrombie&fitch and all the other labels, and don't live to please guys in innapropriate matters.

A person involved in cheerleading. The sporting activity, while negatively associated with unfavorable male and female personalities, demands rigorous athleticism, spirit, and team-work.

Cheerleading shown on ESPN is an extreme example of the athleticism. While most squads aren't competitive (i.e., co-ed partner stunts, gymnastics, etc.), more work goes into a good squad than just looking cute and sleeping around. (For bad squads, see shit.)

However, it seems a high percentage of perky, pretty girls fall under the category of slut. Unfortunate for the cheerleading world. Quite a good deal for the guys.

In defense of cheerleaders, though, there are cool ones out there with real personalities and real goals in life. Don't let the stereotypes fool you.

Example:
Our male cheerleaders are some of the strongest guys I've ever met. And also some of the most horribly perverted and straight guys at that. Think about it, though. Girls in tight clothing and skirts, and you get to touch them. Now that's a contact sport.

Can you believe that our class valedictorian was a cheerleader? And that her parents' combined income is only $34,000? I don't even know.

1.) Female member of a sporting team's cheer squad. Characterised as attractive, unintelligent/naive, and bitchy; highly concerned with body image, appearance, and popularity. Hyperactively supports, barracks and dances for their team during a sporting event. Usually date and sleep with jocks.

2.) Female equivalent of fanboy. Derived from the cheerleaders' blind faith in, and support of, their team. Used in application to figures such as particular bands, actors, ideals, styles, pop culture/television shows, countries, and so on. Like fanboys, cheerleaders are unable to discuss their idol objectively and maturely, rendering conversation with them useless and frustrating. This also makes their opinion on the topic superfluous.

A chearleader is a person (usually female) involved in the activity of cheerleading. Chearleading is NOT a sport (If it was a sport under federal law we would only be allowed to compete and not cheer and do sidelines at football and basketball games)although it involves a great deal of physical activity and strength. It involves a combination of dance and gymnastics as well as stunting. Common stereotypes depict cheerleaders as slutty, blonde, bimbo airheads. Most are not, there are a few that are and give the rest of us a bad name. Please do not avoid cheerleaders because of these stereotypes this just proves that you are narrowminded or have some form of a personal vendetta against cheerleaders in general.

Did you see that girl, crappy blonde dye job, belly shirt on, booty shorts a poppin? Ten bucks she's a cheerleader.
