earworm
A song with an 'addictive'
element (hook,
melody,
lyric) that draws people into listening multiple times. Song doesn't have to be good or bad, it just needs to have that 'addictive' element.

A song or
tune that continues playing inside one's head, often to the intense annoyance of the particular head concerned. The song/tune will typically be of the
hooky variety, making it easy to absorb and remember on just one or two hearings. Unfortunately for sufferers, it is often the most trite and irritating parasites (i.e. melodies) which attach to the host ear...
Etymology:
This was first coined, I believe, in Germany. The german translation is "
Ohrwurm".
Example:
"Oh shit! I've got this earworm in my head and it's playing Kylie songs!"
Or, in German:
"
Scheisse!
Ich bin ein Ohrwurm!"

A song that won't go away, and gets stuck in your head. Makes you want to tear your ears out; unfortunately,
deafness can't cure it because
it's in there
for good.

It's
at this time when your brain, gets really gives up and think of a song that you hate so much. This mostly happens when your doing something really important yet really boring so you think of
one word and your brain will think of a song that you try to get
rid since last week.
Example:
Teacher: Ok, there are food in
the plastic bag. What is inside the plastic bag?
Guy: *hmmm
plastic bag*
His brain: DO YOU EVER FEEL LIKE A
PLASTIC BAG DRIFTING THROUGH THE WIND WANTING TO START AGAIN!!!
Guy: GODDAMMIT, PLS STOP THE
EARWORM!!!!
Teacher:
earworm?

A song that sticks
in your mind, and will not leave no matter how much you try.
The best way to get rid of an
earworm is to replace it with another. Be prepared to become a
jukebox.
Example:
worst examples: "
Mmmbop" by Hanson, "Toxic" by Britney Spears, "Quit
Playin Games With My Heart" by Backstreet Boys, or any damn Hilary Duff song.
best examples: "This Love" Maroon 5, "Hey Ya" Outkast, "Memory"
Sugarcult, and any Lauryn Hill song.

A song (usually one that you don't want to hear) that plays in your head for the rest of the day after you hear it. There is often some part of the song that is addictive to the brain, which may be
the beat, the
melody, or the lyrics.
Best ways to get rid of an
earworm include replacing it with another song, or listening to songs other than the one that is stuck (just try not to think about it).
Example:
Me: (just listening to the
car radio, enjoying the music)
*
Pink's "What About Us" begins to play*
Me: NOT THAT
EARWORM AGAIN!!

(N.) A terrible song usually made by a
terrible artist that despite it's awfulness, seems to be catchy enough to get stuck in your head until the point you can't get it out. You soon start to hum it all the time, even if you don't like it and may even eventually get used to it. Earworms usually last anywhere between 2 to 6 weeks (based on how often the song plays) and occur about every other month.
Examples: Britney Spears: "Toxic",
J-Ho: "
Jenny From The Block", and any Justin Timberlake song after 2002.
Example:
Hey Ya isn't an Earworm. It's just a damn
catchy song! Toxic, now that's an Earworm! Despite
Britney's terrible singing voice, the hot, secret-agent like beat will turn it into an Earworm.
