Over-The-Counter Hipster
by Madeleine Gruder on May 28, 2009 11:08:26
Over-The-Counter Hipsters also
Cashier Hipsters who rely on their own income. Commonly found behind or "over-the-counter" as the
cashier at
Beacon's Closet, Ozzies, etc. Usually wearing something they may have found while
on the job at Beacon's Closet. Most often found a cranky mess because they can no longer rely on their parents for money and must do it themselves, therefore, they become an Over-The-Counter or Cashier Hipster.
Example:
Beacon's Closet customer: Excuse me, I'd like to try on this funky and unusual dress shirt. Could you
hold my other items here at the counter or should I bring them into the dressing room with me?
Over-The-Counter Hipster: I don't know, i'm too tired from having to make my own income and not rely on my parents for my money to make a decision like this. *adjusts thick-framed glasses* I'm going to go on my break now and be nonchalant with my Hipster friends at
Ozzie's Coffee Shop.
over-the-counter counterculture
by Mr.Majestic on May 16, 2008 15:15:13
When something that appeals to those who'd rather do their own thing is sold by a corporation. A textbook example is Hot Topic appealing to the punk/emo/metal scene by selling shirts with "clever" sayings and emblems of punk bands that were big in the decade before. Another example would be
pre-ripped jeans. When attemps to stand out are made easy by
going to the mall, rather than actually embracing the
counterculture itself.

Over-the-counter pill-popper
by Gianluca Formica on Aug 30, 2013 07:37:08
An
over-the-counter pill-popper is a specific type of
pill popper that is addicted to only legal over-the-counter pills and so does not need a doctor's prescription to get pills. Instead they go from pharmacy to pharmacy buying over the counter pills. They need to keep rotating between many pharmacies to avoid being recognised by staff, or they get friends and family to buy pills for them. The time spent going to different pharmacies keeps increasing as the addiction increases until a disproportionate amount of work and free time is spent doing this. As the person is not necessarily under a GP
serious damage can be done with high dosages over a prolonged period which goes unnoticed. Examples include people addicted to Codine (used as a downer) and or Pseudoephedrine (used as an upper) etc. these do not need prescriptions from a GP to buy at a pharmacy in the UK.
Example:
The UK government is creating an
epidemic of over-the-counter pill-poppers by not following the rest of the workd by making addictive
pills like codine and Pseudoephedrine
prescription only medicines.
over-the-counter medication
by QuacksO on Nov 03, 2023 23:05:35
Stored-behind-da-checkout-platform substances dat are so strongly craved by certain
customers dat
dey will actually "
vault da table" to obtain some.
Example:
Hagar The Horrible is infamous for infuriatedly taking a flying leap over an obstacle with his sword flailing whenever someone located behind said obstruction denies him a request, so one would hope that he never is prescribed any health-improvement pills by Dr.
Zook, or said much-desired products might wind up being "over-the-counter medications" if said
imperious Viking either was unable to pay for said pharmaceuticals, or he was wanting additional meds prior to the refill date.
