An
equine fungal infection that affects horses with white feet. It causes lesions that look like a lot of little scratches that ooze and turn crusty.
Contracted from standing in
boggy or wet ground for long periods of time.
Example:
"Look at how
crusty that
pony's feet are-- he's got scratches!"
"Better treat his scratches now or they'll only
get worse."

In track, when
a runner withdraws from a race before it begins. The term originated from the days when heat sheets were written on paper, and
a runner's name would litterally be
scratched off in pencil when he/she decided not to race.

With the same intention as cutting, except trying to avoid scarring. The
scratcher will usually use something sharp to the touch but not pure metal, for example,
a bobby pin without the plastic coating or a safety pin as opposed to a knife, scissors, razor,
pencil sharpener blade, etc.

licence so you can drink underage, like in
the Mike Hines episode of 2000.
Example:
