Politically correct (aka Newspeak) term for "physical distancing". You're not actually distancing yourself socially. Social distancing is actually distancing yourself from society and being less social. We're not doing that here in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.Social Distancing

Social Distancing
Abstract noun referring to a distance of 6ft (or 2m) that people must keep between eachother during a virus pandemic in order to reduce transmission of the virus.
Example:
1. A pandemic-appropriate, polite way in which to tell someone to remove themselves from your safe space. E.g. you have just bumped into someone as you try to exit a lift. "Oops. Social distancing!", you chuckle through your mask.
2. A never-appropriate, impolite way in which to tell someone to remove themselves from your safe space. E.g. you have just bumped into someone as you try to exit a lift. You remove the person's mask, as well as your own, and spit into their face, "Social distanciinngg!"
