A word that is difficult to describe an exact meaning for. Additionally, a word one must develop a knack for when use it.

Loosely speaking, used to feign sympathy towards a person in a mocking manner as an act of banter, after they have described something bad that has happened to them that they have no choice but to just accept and move on (usually due to their own fault or bad luck).

Use of the word tends to divide groups. Some adopt the word and embrace it. Others display visible annoyance at its use, which tends to inadvertently encourage those who embrace it to use it more.

The term 'Chins' was coined by the pill heads of Weston-S-Mare, a small town in the south west of England.
The name comes from the erratic movement of one's chin when on pills. a Chin being 1 pill, chins as in many pills

Someone with multiple chins, which must be kept fed. Or they will rampage through the town, destroying anything and everything, like Godzilla. Often called an Alycia.

A character on the popular YouTube channel TVFilthyFrank who wears a black body suit and has eyes drawn lazily on top of his eyelids. He often speaks in complete gibberish and Japanese, often repeating the words Chin Chin. Chin Chin also translates to penis in Japanese which is was used as a joke in the naming of Chin Chin.

1) Italian (and sometimes French): 'Cheers!' Derives from the sound of the glasses clinking together.

2) Japanese: Penis. Cause of much puzzlement when Italians travel to Japan, or when Japanese travel to Italy.

A synonym to cheers. Though it is, unlike the more universal term "cheers", only used when taking in beverages.

This uttering would for the most part be considered posh.

Example:
In more formal parties one could raise his/her glass facing another person, and say: "chin-chin" before drinking.
