Suicide Silence

I've deduced that if you think Suicide Silence is "br004l" or "the definition of death metal" you've just barley gotten into extreme metal, because this band is a piece of fucking trash for those of us who've been listening to extreme metal for years. the artwork is lifeless- and in black and white inside the jewel case. the production is dismal and blotchy all over. the music quality is tedious and repetitive and the lyrics are as cliché as your daddy's sagging left nut. i dont have anything against 'deathcore' though the term itself doesnt exist- it was made up by a bunch of bored 13 year olds huffing on computer cleaner- because there are some talents out there. but this is soggy, overblown heavy metal that is so boring and directionless that it isnt even worth trying to classify.

Suicide Silence is what happens when a record label signs a bunch kids who haven't the slightest idea what to do with a musical instrument.
Example:
For some reason, I keep giving this band a chance... partly for because of it's cult-like following, partly because some of the most amazing musicians I've heard were not an easy listen at first.

Time and time again, I've come to realize Suicide Silence is noise pollution.

A death metal band that somehow has gotten critical acclaim for being "brutal" while lacking any instrumental skill whatsoever. They're even worse than Slipknot live. Most their music consists of constant chugging, blast beats, and a lack of lead guitarwork. Their only lead work is really just a bunch of arpeggios that don't fit well together and are poorly executed. The vocals suck live, too.

This is pretty much only a band that is liked by scene kids whose latest fad is claiming they like the most brutal band they can find.
Example:
Don't get me wrong, I love death metal, but death metal bands come a dime a dozen, and the only thing about Suicide Silence that sticks out is how obnoxious this band really is. I've seen this band perform a number of times and they are completely talentless.

"Suicide Silence" Term used when someone wins by default. Also used when someone gets lucky. Also used when someone sells out. Also used when someone with no talent gets ahead by being as cliche as possible.
Example:
Dude, they got lucky the good bands car broke down, otherwise they wouldnt have had a crowd. They pulled a Suicide Silence on that one.

this is true. yet there a very suscsessful band, and there music is extremely hardcore and fun to listen to.

An overrated and inadequate wanna-be death metal band from riverside, california. riding high on the whole "hot topic" idea of embracing heavy bands. the sad thing is, there are insanely talanted and worthy metal bands out there, but suicide silence got signed because scene kids buy their shirts for their logo and the word 'suicide'. Weak vocals, sluggish guitar word, and FAKE blastbeats.
Example:
punk kid: dude, i fucking hate death metal.
metal head: its because you heard suicide silence.
