Echelon
The codename for
the NSA's (National Security Agency) high-tech information-interception system. Echelon has a collection of satellite dishes (supposedly Echelon is made up of a network of satellite dishes)overseas, basically in all english-speaking countries (including America, Canada, England, Australia, and New Zealand...).Echelon is said to intercept, on a daily basis, billions of e-mails, phonecalls, downloads, satellite transmissions, faxes, and any other form of digital media. This is used to help locate possible terrorists in the new age of
cyber warfare.Echelon was made popular, and positively (as in, in a good way), by
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. ^_^

Example:
The system takes random samplings of all communication types including voice, and scans them for
keywords, such as anthrax, in most languages. If it finds one, whatever
uplink you used will be listened to more often, and common occurances of keywords may
promt the system to alert a human operator.
Unless you are talkin about that sorta stuff all the time, you'll never even be noticed.

The Echelon 2000 was designed by AG to keep a constant flow of “
Sexy text” (See Definition) to females of
AG's choice. The system is automated and utilises AG's mobile phone address book to constantly 'poll' a list of phone numbers with sms messages. The system is
set-up to favour AG's friends sisters and has the ability to 'hack' their mobiles if extra information about them is needed.
Example:
Scenario: Someone's sister has has split with their boyfriend
Result:
Mobile phone will be sent a extra 10 messages per week in
the hope of
scoring.
