Any kid born between 1997-2006. A 2000s kid might remember events such as 9/11, the war on terrorism, Hurricane Katrina, the release of the iPhone, the recession of 2008, and the election of 2008. Some gaming consoles a 2000s kid may have owned are the Gamecube, PS2, the original Xbox, and the Wii.

A 2000’s kid was a kid born from 1997-2001. 2002-2004 kids are a mixture of early 2000s and 2010s, which is honestly the best times to have grown up because you got the best of both worlds. You experienced nostalgic things like cassette tapes, VHS tapes, silly bands and the golden era of Disney and Nickelodeon. But you also got to experience the introduction of the iPhone, and mid Disney channel (which was honestly the only good era left of Disney before it became trash). Kids born 2005-2007 are *not* early 2000s kids, unless you were born in early 2005. But the 2005-2007 generation still related to the early 00’s because the early 00’s was very similar to the 90’s, and didn’t die out until 2007. 2008-2010 is probably the bad Disney generation, as they grew up with bad Disney, and their childhoods didn’t really start until 2011. So here’s the break down:

1997-2001= a true early 2000s kid (grew up to be at least 5 by 2006)
2002-2004= early 2000s kid, but also mid 2000s. So we really got the best of both worlds.
2005-2007= mid, which was still a good time! Just not the early 2000’s, you guys are mid.

2008-2010= The collapse of the 2000’s, very late 2000 and when the 2000 era ended.

kids who spent the majority of their childhood (5-12) in the 2000s (2000-2009) decade. Primarily 1990s babies are 2000s kids but kids born from 1991-92 are classified as a (Hybrid) meaning half 90s/00 kid. The 2000s kids spans from 1991-2002 but the real 00 kids are born (1993-1999).

Someone who had majority of their childhood years (about age 3-12) in the decade of the 2000s. This is some born from about 1992/3-2001/2. However people born in 1993 and a few years later can remember the 90s but majority of the childhood still unfortunately resides in the 2000s. Likewise, someone born in 2002 and a few years before actually have their childhood overlap into the 2010s!, but majority of their childhood is in the 2000s. This means the main 2000s kids are born between 1995-1998

A person born either in the late 90s or mid 2000s (1995-2004) who spent their childhood years in the 2000s. Your childhood is not just from 3 to 12. This also applies to those who spent most of their teen years in the 2000s.

2000s kids born in 1995 -1997 typically try to claim being a 90s kid but do not count as they were not old enough to remember anything or just started gaining the ability to remeber by the end of the decade and many of their informative and impactful years happened on the 2000s. People born in 98 and 99 are automatically 2000s kids and have no seat on the 90s council for obvious reasons (being a newborn or infant).

Depending on when a 2000s kid is born, they can be both a 2000s kid and a 2010s kid and their formulative years stretch over both decades. This typically extends to people born in 98-2004, but can also extend to people who were older teens in the early 2010s (ex: 16 in 2012; born in 96).

Many 2000s kids have never had a world without the internet or a phone. Many of their first phone were flip or touch screen smartphone. 2000s kids had the best reminisce of the 90s and the best eras of all the kid networks as well as peak of tv options compared to children born in the late 2000s or 2010s that watch the Paul Brothers, Lele Pons and get nothing but reboots and live action movies of what the 2000s kids had the original of (also extends to some 90s kids media).

2000s kids are also a part of Generation Z (1995-2012).

2000s Kids are annoying idiots who trash on anyone who didn’t grow up in the 2000s. They basically are the younger Versions of 90s Kids.

A Conversation with a 2000s Kid would go like this

2000s Kid: “Wow you grew up in the 2010s wow your had the worst childhood ever!”

Some Kid: “Shut the Fuck Up You Had 9/11 and the 2008 Recession! The 2000s wasn’t a paradise.”
