Stands for AOL Instant Messenger.

Freeware that can be downloaded and used for communication via screen names added to one's buddy list.

Extremely popular software. Can have multiple 2 person conversations or multi-person buddy chats similar to a conference call on the telephone.

Popular networking tool for todays youth which also allows for the transfer of pictures, files and mp3s.
Example:
P1: "Dude, I've been waiting to here all day... tell me what happened between you and Jay!"

Stands for AOL Instant Messenger. An Instant Messenging service launched by AOL. They add AIMbots to your buddy list such as 'Moviefone' or 'SmarterChild'. It can be used to IM(instant message) with your friends, or even close relatives. It could even bring the family together.

An acronym for Aol Instant messanger (Aol itself is an acronym for American online). A program used to chat with people online, it itself was a good idea, however people lately bombard it with acronyms and abbreviations therefore it basically takes longer to read and understand the converastion than it does to write and send a letter.

What most adults blame for ruing today's youth. For I'd like to say that AIM isn't a breeding for pedophiles. You cannot meet people over AIM. Only talk to your friends that you already know their screenname. So, mabe you should learn about it before blaming it.
AIM is a instant messenging program that allows people to communicate without having to hear each other's annoying voice.
