Avenged Sevenfold

Avenged Sevenfold (sometimes abbreviated to A7X), is a band from Huntington Beach, CA, consisting of members M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, Synyster Gates, Johnny Christ, and The Rev. Influences ranging from Pantera and Metallica to Misfits and Guns N' Roses. The band got their name from the book of Genesis in the Bible and the story of Cain and Abel, where Cain is punished to live forever in exile, alone and miserable. Anyone who relieved Cain of his misery by killing him would be "avenged sevenfold," or punished in a way that is seven times worse than Cain's punishment. Although the band has been labeled metal, metalcore and hard rock in many publications, the band themselves claim that they are a metal/hard rock band and have no musical similarities to metalcore in any way. Recently M. Shadows' vocal stylings have changed more to focus on melodic singing than on hardcore screaming, due to the band's desire to change the direction of their music. Avenged Sevenfold (commonly shortened to A7X) are a hardcore/metal rock band that originate from Huntington Beach, California. They currently have released four albums, "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" (2001), "Waking the Fallen" (2003), "City of Evil" (2005) and "Avenged Sevenfold" (2007) while also having released a live DVD and B-side CD package named "Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough" (2008).

The current members are:
M. Shadows (Matthew Sanders) - Vocals
Synyster Gates (Brian Haner Jr.) - Lead Guitar
Zacky Vengeance (Zachary Baker) - Rhythm Guitar
Johnny Christ (Jonathon Seward) - Bass

Founding member and drummer, The Reverend Tholomew Plauge (James "Jimmy" Sullivan) recently passed away on December 28th 2009 and has yet not been replaced. His death appears to have been due to natural causes.
Other former members include Matt Wendt, Justin Sane and Dameon Ash (all bassists).

Avenged Sevenfold has a vast fan-base, spanning the whole globe and are notorious known for their symbol, the Deathbat. In addition, both Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance have clothing lines, Syn Gate clothing and Vengeance University respectively.

A7X are in the process of recording their fifth album and with the help of Mike Portnoy, they have been able to create the vision that the Rev would have wanted. This album should hopefully be released later in 2010/early 2011.

Avenged Sevenfold (also known as A7X) is a metalcore band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1999. The title 'Avenged Sevenfold' is taken from the biblical story of Cain and Abel in Genesis 4:15(NIV), which reads, "But the Lord said to him, Therefore whoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold".

Avenged Sevenfold, the best band ever, hails from Orange County, CA. The band is a hardcore band, that has more recently become more of a full-on metal band. The lineup includes:

Matt Shadows- Lead Vocals
Synyster Gates- Lead Guitars
Zacky Vengeance- Rhythm Guitars
Johnny Christ- Bass
The Rev- Drums

The band has released three full length CDs to date. 2001's "Sounding The Seventh Trumpet", 2003's "Waking The Fallen", and 2005's "City of Evil". The songs they have released include "Darkness Surrounding", "Unholy Confessions", "Chapter Four", "Burn It Down", and "Bat Country". No band can ever remove Avenged Sevenfold from the spot of being the best band ever.

A hard rock/ metal band from Long Beach, California. Earlier albums were heavily hardcore/ punk and strain metal, but they since evolved into a more mainstream and radio- friendly metal and hard rock band, and their influences, like Metallica and Guns and Roses, shine through . There are a few odd songs here and there, with Dear God being country and Save Me being more progressive metal, however the genre hardly matters as they perform all equally well. They also give an extraordinary live show, although Matt doesn't scream anymore, so earlier songs are modified for clean vocals when played live.

No matter what kind of music you like, Avenged Sevenfold is just a great band.

An absolutely hardcore, badass, extremly talented band from Huntington Beach, CA. Their name is commonly abbreviated to A7X.

Band Members: M. Shadows (vocals), The Reverend (drummer), Synyster Gates (lead guitarist), Zacky Vengeance (rhythm guitarist), and Johnny Christ (bassist).

Their first album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet was released through Hopeless Records in 1999. It features the song Warmness on the Soul (amazing). Most of the songs on this album are hardcore and very metal!

Avenged Sevenfold's second album, Waking the Fallen, was released in 2003 through Hopeless Records as well. It features the hit Unholy Confessions (masterpiece).

Their breakthrough album, City of Evil, was released in 2005 through the major record label Warner Brothers. The single Bat Country greatly contributed to the success.

They just recently released their self-titled album in 2007 featuring the single Almost Easy. This is by far their most unique album. It takes elements from country, hip-hop, classical, and of course rock music.

Pinkly Smooth is the side project of Avenged Sevenfold's drummer the Reverend. He has an incredible voice. He has significant vocal roles in A7X's latest album.
