Workplace Conflict
by AKACroatalin on Jun 01, 2015 14:50:33
As the name suggests this is conflict within the workplace. These conflicts can be due to people with different personalities that just don’t get on well, or different opinions as to how the work should be done. Managers showing
favouritism can cause or exacerbate
workplace conflict as can the environment of the workplace itself or the hierarchical structure of the organisation.
Workplace conflict is pernicious and unpleasant and if there is no way that this conflict can be resolved you could be better off working for another organisation.
Example:
“Mark and
Terry are
butting heads over product development again.”
“No surprise there, this place is full of
workplace conflict, I’m just glad I’m gone at the end of the month."
Fun Conflict
by reddlynx99 on Oct 24, 2011 00:39:37
Conflict between two fun things to do, where both choices are equally fun.
Nobody seems to have
sympathy for people with "Fun Conflicts". In fact, they become a little annoyed and wish they had
more fun conflicts of their own.
Example:
"Sorry I can't go to skiing this weekend, I have a Fun Conflict. I am going to Vegas with my buddies instead."
"Looks like we have a Fun Conflict on Saturday. We have to choice between
Jack's tailgate party and
Jill's hot tub party"
