GiD is an abbreviation of the word 'Guys in Distress'. It is most commonly used within the otaku community (otaku being the western term for somebody who likes anime or enjoys reading manga) as AGiD or 'Anime Guys in Distress'.

It is extremly popular on deviantart in the form of literature and drawings, with titles most commonly written as, 'GiD - *insert character name here*'. In the artwork, the character is usually portrayed as an innocent and helpless character, young, and probably bound and gagged.
