A person who is generally considered elite in their particular sport, but who seems to choke regularly in important games or situations. Can be synonymous with a player who performs well in a regular season, or smaller events, but chokes in the playoffs,
postseason, or major events. Named for
Clayton Kershaw, starting pitcher for the
Los Angeles Dodgers, who as of 10/10/2019 sports a career 2.44 ERA in the regular season, but 4.43 ERA in the postseason.
Example:
Bryan's team missed a chance to make the state soccer
championship last night because he allowed a
season worst 7 goals. He's such a Kershaw!
