A word made by attaching the prefix pre- to move.Premove (v.) Premoved, Premoving1. The 'action' before a move.Most often applied to chess, but can be used in other board games.2. The action of locking in a move before your opponent in timed online chess games in order to execute the move quickly, in order to save time. This is highly risky as you cannot take back a move, so premoving is very committal.When done in real life, it usually refers to making a move very quickly after your opponent, ad if you premoved online.Make sure to hit the chess clock!Premove (n.)
