The decade that we currently live in, hasn't found it's identity yet but is looking to be the 90s 3.0 as the 2000s just seemed like a more commercial 90s with cool technology.The 2010s is the 2nd decade of the 21st century, and will be the decade when gen y will probably find their place, and gen z will rise, while gen y has kids that will be the generation after z that no one can quite name. Baby Boomers will start to reach retirement age this decade which will probably put a massive strain on social services, and gen x will reach a more prominent political position in the world.The economy may get worse, and we are working towards green energy and actual worrying about the health of our citizens so this decade will probably be more realistic about the health craze instead on the 2000s where it was all Atkins diets and such.TV will probably get better as scripted shows are making a comeback, and reality is losing popularity. Cartoons also seem to be making a turn for better with things like Adventure Time and Beavis and Butthead slated to return in 2011 with new episodes. Music seems to be moving in the direction of electronic taking hip-hop's and modern rock's place pretty quickly and becoming more popular. Hip-Hop seems to be waining, and emo is dead/dying and scene is also. Indie rock also seems to be rising as a new trend.2010s

One of the worst decades of all time (not as bad as more horrendous decades like the 1930s or 40s but still pretty crappy). It is mostly remembered for many infamous things and moments such as:
·Obsession with technology: Everyone is always glued to their phones and are way too obsessed with the internet and social media which too much of it really is unhealthy.
·Bland and cheesy media: Mostly movies, music, video games, and TV shows that are incredibly lame and even horrendous at times.
·Americans electing Donald Trump as president: While I'm personally neutral on Trump and do respect some good things he's done for the U.S., I don't however respect his ego, actions, and comments.
·Godawful memes: Most 2010s memes are stupid, confusing, overused and try way too hard to be offensive and edgy.
·Political correctness: People for some strange reason are offended over the smallest things so everything nowadays has to be overly PC in order to please the public.
·Social Justice Warriors: People who take political correctness to the extreme.
·Anti-Social Justice Warriors: People who take politcal incorrectness to the extreme.
·Terrible slang: Some of the cheesiest words you'll ever hear like "swag", "yolo", "bae", "thot", etc.
I could go on and on about everything that was truly wrong with this decade.

Maybe there's no reason for me to get with the times if things are gonna get worse and worse. Imagine 30 years from now when we look back on this piece of shit decade. The 2010s are when social media and smartphones became increasingly powerful and ubiquitous, revolutionizing the layperson's daily life. Social media went from being a fun distraction for some to being part of life and vital for big business, and smartphones went from being expensive niche business tools or novelties to being a powerful commodities with PC-level capacity. Tablets became popular with the iPad's release in 2010 and various other systems later on.
Political events include the Arab Spring & rise of ISIS, Occupy Wall Street, Obama, Trump, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Brexit, Kim Jong-un, the Venezuela crisis, Mugabe's fall and others. LGBT acceptance continued to rise in many places, and various countries legalized gay marriage.
Cultural trends/fads include Gangnam Style, world ending in 2012, Harlem Shake, Doge, Pokemon GO, Fidget Spinners, VR gear, and dabbing. Pop culture had things such as the global rise of dubstep, the Korean Wave reaching the West, the Weinstein Effect and lots of marketing to nostalgia. In many places, paid broadcast TV like cable declined in favor of on-demand streaming like Netflix & sites like YouTube. Free Wifi became increasingly common through the 10s, and in many places now there are hotspots everywhere. Cell phones overtook landline phones in the mid 10s.

The broke ass revival of the 1980s decade and the 2000s little bratty brother. A decade dominated by the toilet humor of Pop EDM, the obsessed smartphone users, the War On Terror Part Deuce, and Russia's flexing off its biceps again. People are cutting the cord but media networks remain in complete totalitarian control. Smartphones gain Skynet-like self awareness and adaptive intelligence, and will cause the the human race go extinct by 2020. It is the era Barack Obama of being POTUS; yet the end of the decade gave birth to a orange manbaby for POTUS, Donald Trump. China gave the world a one great big Christmas "present" in the very end of the decade: the SARS-2 coronavirus.

The decade in which the internet became the norm, memes became a language, and kids had a very memorable childhood. This decade began January 1st, 2010 and ended January 1st, 2020. The 2020 countdown forever rings in the hearts of those who experienced the best decade ever...

Supposedly the next decade and this is what I can see coming.
It will be a lot more conservative than the 2000s and there will be a backlash of the liberal views of the late 2000s, which are starting to fail.
The 2010s will have a more focus on family and true friends. People will start having more kids as opposed to 1-3 kid families in the last few decades. TV will become more down to earth and something worth watching. We will be seeing more variety shows and sitcoms, and reality shows are going to be more "realisic" as it was in the 1990s or just die out. Game shows will become more popular along with talk shows and talk radio. Movies will become classics because people would rather see a good movie that is worth their money, not just another blockbuster film, remake, or sequel.
Technology will become more handy and not as much as a "glam" thing or "status symbol" as in the 2000s. Albums and even vinyl will come back...downloading off of iTunes will die out. The internet will become something that will be snuck into stuff and more of an business/informational tool than a social toy. Wireless networking will becoming more widespread and high speed internet will be cheaper.
Music will be more talented and more dance/electronica. Fashion will start being glam and bling, and more brighter colors and nice looking fabrics and designs than actually wearing a label. Ravers will be all over the place.
