Vocalist for both Slipknot and Stone Sour. Truely amazing in both bands. I see a lot of other people with definitions for Corey are making fun of poser-maggots who have only ever heard the song "Vermilion." But, I have noticed, even the so-called, "true maggots" here all spelled Vermilion wrong. Haha. Anyway, Corey's one of the best singers I've ever heard and deserves some respect.

The more popular one from Des Moines, Iowa. Lead Singer of the Alternativee Metal band Stone Sour, became popular when he took the same position in the Nu Metal band Slipknot, after the previous lead singer and percussionist Anders Colsefini left the band. He was the last member to join Slipknot with the number "#8".
He also works on a few solo projects, e.g. with his show "CMFT", which features live music, stand-up comedy and Q&A as an interaction with the fans. His books are quite popular too, but the main cause of his success is the wide range of vocals he covers with his voice.
During his time in Slipknot, he worked with bands like Anthrax, Soulfly and KoRn.
His work often caused much controversy, as well as the debate about his extraordinarily big neck.

Ok I used to hate Slipknot, but when I heard Vermillion, I was absolutely awed by his voice. That doesn't happen often.

Stone Sour is a metal band consisting of Corey Taylor and James Root of Slipknot! It's a side project that Corey and James decided to do in between Slipknot albums just for fun! They didn't expect Stone Sour to become such a huge hit that it was, but because of the song "bother" they became well known all over! In early 2006 with the release of their second album " Come (whatever) may" They wrote a song titled zzYzx Road! In the October '06 edition of Metal Edge interview with stone sour Corey Taylor explains that Stone sour will be around for a good while! It gives the opprotunity to express emotions that he couldn't normally get out with Slipknot!
