Counter-Strike is a popular online multiplayer game for the PC and XBOX. It was made during 1999, shortly after half-life. it uses the half-life engine, but it has been upgraded multiple times. down to the core, it still uses the half-life engine, just...sort of upgraded. it pits two teams against each other, Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists. There are different types of maps as well. The guns in the game (which you have to buy using the money you gain for killing enemies, bombing targets, rescuing hostages, winning rounds, etc) are true to life, except, when the game was made, it was made with a left handed gun view, so the right handed is actually reverse from how the gun looks in real life. the different types of maps are: es, de, as, cs, fy, surf, he. es is escape, in which terrorists have to escape, and where CTs have to kill al Ts. de is bomb, in which terrorists have to plant a bomb, and CTs defuse, as is assasination, where Cts have to protect a VIP, and Ts have to kill him, CS is hostage rescue, fy is frag yard, where you have to basically just kill everyone, surf is just...well...surfing. and he is a "grenade map". Note: most defintions here are of people who have never played CS or only played it for a short time and sucked, but in truth is a very fun game.

A strange and frightening ritual performed by 12-16 year old n00bs online and at LANs that, in many cases, dates back further than the n00bs taking part in it.

In this strange ritual the 12-16 year old n00bs play a primitive form of computer game called 'counterstrike' they break in to two teams named the 'terrorists' and the 'counter terrorists' and attempt to achieve the objective while the other team tries top stop them.

To add to the mystery of this primitive ritual all players in the game spout some form of intangible language that cannot be understood by an outside observer. It is not uncommon to hear such phrases as "i pwnzed j00" "j00 sux0r j00 fkn n00b" "j00 fkn ch34t ill pwnx0r j00r base j00 fkn n00b" and "1 r t3h 1337357!111!!!!11!!1".

When not in the act of playing counterstrike these n00bs hang out in IRC channels where they practice their ancient language and flame anyone who enters from a rival team or clan. If you were to ever join one of these channels you would almost instantly have your sexuality challenged, as this is the biggest insult in the '1337' language.

Built on an outdated engine, this game was relatively good for a time. Then, millions of immature 12 year olds flocked to play it, ruining it for those who enjoyed the game. Oh, and it looks like shit too.

Might be good on the HL2 engine if they develop for it.

A game played by nerdy people I see in cybercafes all day. They often wear thick glasses and have faces covered with pimples, due to spending too much time on the computer and sitting in the front of the computer for too long. These type of people have no lives and need serious professional help if they can't overcome their addictions as most nerds are addicted to this game. They often talk only about this gay game and nothing more examples of their conversations include how they "owned" people, which is a nerd language commonly used by nerds and fags to make themselves feel special and cool. Everytime I hear these nerds talking about "owning" or "shooting" or how "ownage" they are I just wanna punch em in the face and break their nerdish glasses. And if I ever do break their glasses, it's for their own good anyways.
