To be lovesick is to deviate from physical and emotional 'normality'. In other words, you walk around like the walking dead, feeling empty, chest crushing, longing for that special someone. That special someone doesn't have to be a love interest. It could be a relative you've loved and lost, it could be a friend you've loved and have separated from.


When you're lovesick, you dream and think about person X a lot. Of course, that is just another symptom of lovesickness.

Being lovesick is when you love someone so much that you can't function normally. You get nauseous, stomachaches, and you cant eat. When I get lovesick I cant eat for days and my stomach is always in knots.

(Don't believe the other definition that has all those thumbs up for saying it is being in love and "drawing hearts in the sand" and stuff, becauase that is the opposite, that is lovestruck, not lovesick).
