(1)
Copying a post on the Internet. Often with credit, but also without. Mainly on
blogs and social media sites. (2) Starting a discussion on a
message board that has already been started.
Example:
Like, digg, share,
tumbl
"Like".... Hey, check this cool article out.
Oh hi, I can't post anything original so I'll
repost this article instead.

Oh no, not another repost blog.

repost

An act that often happens on message
boards where a member will not read far into
the archives and will post
a link or story that has already been posted and discussed throughly.
Example:
Awww man,
JCOS made /another/ repost? That's the
sixteenth time in two hours! The guy's a
madman!

When one of your friends sees a
post on your social-networking
site and reposts it to theirs, proven by the time
stamp.
Example:
Dam, Justin is such a
reposter. Anytime I post a cool
article on
FB it seems that he posts the same article an hour later.
