The Best Band Ever

The Beatles. Period. Even if you don't like them, you still need to acknowledge the fact that they have had more influence over the music industry than any other band or act ever. Disagree? Think about this. The Beatles brought albums to the forefront of the music scene. Before them artists just released singles and sometimes albums with a bunch of filler tracks, usually covers. The Beatles actually wrote entire albums, becoming the base for just about EVERY BAND today. Not only that, but they have sold more albums than anyother act, have had dozens of hits, have several albums in the Rolling Stone's Top 500 Albums list, are #1 in their Best Band list, and have has dozens of hits. If you think you dislike them, I garentee you have heard a few songs you like that you don't know are by them.

Something that will never exist, especially given the fact that everyone thinks that thier own personal fave is "teh best band evar!1!1!!1!one!".
Example:

The term used by everyone to define their favorite band on Urban Dictionary. Especially common among listeners of lesser-known bands and younger people with narrower tastes. It can never be known who the best band ever is, because it is subject to different preferences and opinions.
Example:
Teenage girl: GREEN DAY IS THE BEST BAND EVER!
Melodic death metal fan: Green day has no talent- you're just a conformist who likes to bandwagon on every hyped band with sex appeal. Clearly, Opeth is the best band ever.
Objective listener: Neither one of you is completely right- now please stop cluttering Urban Dictionary with your opinions!

1. A band that is better then all others.

2. Something there can only be one of. If there is more then one then it is not the best band ever.

3. The best band ever depends on the person you ask.
Example:
Cleetus, "yeah, I think Brooks and Dunn, Nickel Creek, and Weezer are the best bands ever."

Ace, "There can only be one best band ever cock sucker. God, I fuckin hate you, you should burn in hell you red neck son of a bitch."

The Rolling Stones. No questions about it. They've been rocking hard for 44 years-some good bands fail to last 7 months- with very few exceptions, each album has passed their standards perfectly, and they still put on a sweet live show. There are bands I prefer (Guns n' Roses, Aerosmith, AC/DC), but GNR essentially broke up after 5 albums, only 4 of which featured original songs, and Aerosmith and AC/DC wouldn't exist if it weren't for the Stones. Great musicians, inspiration for many, still rocking after all these years... that wins in my book.
