Upward Bound

TRiO Upward Bound is one of three programs in TRiO. Upward Bound is targeted towards High School teenagers to help prepare them for Colleges, Universities, and their future life. Upward Bound prepares students for College and Universities by giving their students a taste of what it is like on a campus for weeks. Classes are also given to students during this time for a more realistic environment besides living on campus.TRiO exists to help those who are struggling find a good resolution for themselves, and Upward Bound is no exception. Upward Bound would help students deal with the financial costs of college, gives information on getting into college, and keeping students on the right tracks into college. There are even mentors who’re either people that have been in Upward Bound before or people that are very understanding, caring, and reliable to assist their students.TRiO programs are also very fun, especially with the variety of personalities that can also share many relationships. There are games, activities, and somehow workshops that are fun and educational. It’s a place where people can just be who they are instead of hiding everything in because they think that someone is going to judge them. The teachers are also very understanding and very ENTHUSIASTIC in the classes they are teaching.Upward Bound isn’t just preparations for college nor is it just a place for fun. Upward Bound is Family.

Upward Bound is the experience of a lifetime. Commonly referred to UB. It's a college prep program, but no one really cares about that stuff. UB has the most amazing people ever. Staying there over the summer is the best thing a person can do with their life. Go to your guidance counselor now and see if there's an Upward Bound program near you.

the shit. except for those gay new people. nobody likes them. summer kicks ass. except hell week. we go on awesome trips. like to chicago. we stay at gay colleges and eat crappy food. we like to flash people. the end.

A college-prep program offered in high schools. Time consuming, but they do get to go visit colleges pretty often. Generally used to make everyone else feel like shit because they aren't in it. Where there is one UBer (person in UB) there will be at least 3 more in the immediate vicinity. Generally, UBer's act like they are better than everyone else because they get to go to L.A. for a week here, SF for a week there, and because they are upheld as the best thing on the f'ing earth. Ironic because for all they do to prepare for college in that class, the number one in the graduating class isn't in UB.

Example:
UBer 1: OMG you remember when we went to LA and that random hobo came up to us and blahblahblah?

UBer 2: Yeah, OMG that was so funny. Haha, look at that loser-we're in Upward Bound, so we're so awesome!

The non-UBer valedictorian: Bitches. Who's awesome now?
