math book
A ponderous tome, containing information in an encrypted form of english. Supposedly teaches how to do math, but incomprehensible to anyone who cannot already do math (See catch 22). Often, the number of Greek letters and obscure symbols found within outnumber the actual english words. Enjoyed by no one. Any exceptions lie.math book
Term for someone who has many problems, usually of a personal nature. Loosely derived from a joke found in a box of Cracker Jack's.
Singapore Math Books
Math titles that marry decent quality with affordability—authors must be racially, religiously, and sexually sensitive, while the Ministry of Education (MOE) controls the price of the books.

A Pi-Free Math Book
The mathematical equivalent of a meeting-free day or passport-less travel. When the sight of the symbol π is enough to trigger panic or paranoia among billions of folks worldwide, who think they weren’t born or blessed with the “math gene.”
Example:
