A fluid identity that encompasses sexual attraction to any number of genders between
two genders and all genders, with or without preferences to gender. Bisexuals do not have to have a preference, nor do they have to strictly love two genders. Bisexuals are allowed to love any number of genders as long as it's two or more. Can be defined in one of the following ways:
- Two or more
- More than one
- A fluid identity for two or more
- However the person wants to define it as long as it's more than one gender
Some misconceptions of
bisexuality include:
- Must liking only two genders
- Cannot like more than two, or that is automatically
polysexual.
- Similarly, cannot like all, or that is automatically pansexual or
omnisexual.
- Must choose a side.
- Avoiding being Gay and Lesbian.
- Wouldn't date trans, nonbinary,
GNC, or anyone who isn't cisgender.
- Promiscuous
Bisexuality is a very fluid identity, and many types of attraction are included
under it. It isn't limited in any regard apart from the minimum attraction being to two genders, and all genders are included in bisexual attraction.
Example:
Grace: So you're bisexual?
Mal: Yep.
Grace: So you like
two genders?
Mal: No, I like all.
Grace: Isn't that pan?
Mal: Bisexuality is a fluid identity, my attraction falls within it. I can be Bi and love all
genders.
Grace: Oh cool!
