A country located in the Caribbean. It shares the Island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic. It has been having many problems in its economy due to its numerous ruthless and selfish dictators. It's been in a state of civil unrest for years.

It is also the first black nation to win it's independence in the Americas.

Haitians speck to Languges French and Creole. 80% of Haitians are Chatolic 20% Are Protestant (note: 40% of haitians also practice voodoo along with Christian faiths). As a White Haitian i should know that Mulattoes and White Haitians often are richer the blacks. Haiti was once Frances riches colony! that sold more suger and coffe then all the british colonies combined! Haiti gained independance in 1804!

A country in the Caribbeans that shares an island with the Dominican Republic, while the Dominican Republic makes some good baseball talents, Haiti has had the unfortunate luck of being hit with a whole lot of stuff, Earthquakes, hurricanes, mother earth hates Haiti, but that doesn't mean we do, well, unless you do.
They're also quite the soccer team for the size of the country.

In 1804 the second American nation to achieve independence, based on the values of liberty and equality as derived from the French Revolution. Haiti has faced many challenges including but not limited to:

- Not being able to create a stable and fully independent economy post-revolution (they didn't know how to do other

things besides farm, and most plantation farms were destroyed so they had to start from scratch),
- Being embargo-ed by the U.S. and restricted by Europe and it's colonies which meant they couldn't trade and really

couldn't get information and resources to industrialize as fast as everyone else
- America and Europe thought black people couldn't grow an economy on their own, but they didn't allow them to (what

are you going to do with out trade? Also U.S. didn't want their ideas to spread to American slaves)
- Cycles of relatively fine and poor rulers (monarchs, presidents, and dictators)
- The U.S. embargo lasted more than half a century
- The imperialist United States military occupation of Haiti from 1915-1934
- Unforgiving earthquakes and hurricanes which have repeatedly halted and set back production cycles

Haiti is one of the biggest Islands in the Caribbean, sharing its borders with the Dominican Republic. Although misjudge Haiti is a better country than it is thought to be, media of course try to portray Haiti as an hell hole. Not true I’ve been there and lived there only problem is extremely hot temperature and mosquitoes. Just to clarify something Haiti was under American occupation, period in which the U.S took a very large amount of gold and treasure (during early 1900’s under Theodore Roosevelt). Haiti has not have the greatest luck with leaders, everyone come with great promises but end up still millions.
