Example:
"You said we were gonna go see the movie! Don't change
your mind and
flake out!"
"Damn, it's been an hour since we were supposed to meet. I bet she just
flaked out on me."

A so called friend who is constantly unreliable and shady. A flake is someone who can
think up an excuse for everything but their own existence. The behavior that a flake exhibits is a product of their own desire to manipulate people. A flake will find reasons to ditch a friend whenever that person wants to do something that is not on the flakes agenda. They are
insidious beings they do not exhibit this behavior when you first meet them but usually much later
down the line. A true flake is not the idiot that they would have you believe.
Example:
Bob secretly does not
like opera, so he tells his friend to buy the tickets anyways and then does not show up. He calls
the friend at the last minute and says he must study for a test. Of course it's the middle of
summer vacation though, what a flake.

n. An
unreliable person; someone who agrees to do something, but never follows through. Someone that you can never count
on to eat lunch with or go to a party with.
Example:
Jenny is a flake, she told me she'd go to that party with me on
Friday, and she found
plans with some other girl.

a person, friend, or lover that calls you, texts you, emails you, tells you, that they want to hangout and
alas they just sit on their
fatass and never meet you or get back to you on the reason of their
absence. They are big fuckass' that will only cause you many hours of anger and frustration.
Example:
He sent me a text saying:
I am gonna see you tonight right? that is the plan?
me:
yeah,
call me later and we will be together
fer sure.
...................................
and later that night there is well, no meeting, no sex, and NO call.
leaving me to just say:
FUCK THAT
FLAKE!!

n: flake
A person whose social and psychological outer layer slips away when under pressure. They lack integrity,
resilience and robustness. For their protection they depend upon unrealistic and imaginative
constructs.

(I was called out on my use of the word "flake" recently and was challenged to define it. I came up pretty much with the above definition and then went through all the other definitions that people have supplied to the UD for it. I was struck by the consistency of them - especially the
self-interest and unreliability. We know who these people are ...)
