A name for racist, misogynist, ultra conservative white supremacist always-privileged Republicans, after the tendency to find most of them wearing the red trucker hats bearing the campaign slogan "Make America Great Again" of 2016 Republican presidential candidate Donald J Trump.Red hats are offended by Equal Rights movements because the idea that equality might be achieved by raising the oppressed without lowering the un-oppressed is a foreign concept they are incapable of understanding.They talk about preserving Men's Rights without taking into account that (white) Men have never been in danger of losing any of their rights, or appropriate Black Lives Matter to say All Lives Matter, when people of color are still fighting discrimination of which privileged (white) people are unaware.

U.S. Military slang for an airborne trooper (Paratrooper) given the red appearance of the maroon beret worn as an identifier in an airborne unit(not limited to the U.S. Military).
Example:
Leg: "Did you see that red hat over there"
Other Leg: "yeah i saw him i wish i had a red beret"
Red Hat : "stupid legs don't even run"
75thRanger : "you regular army Cat's are the worst"
SF: "shut up, stupid rangers think they're sf or somesh**t"

Colloquialism for attendees of IndyCar events, identifiable by the red hats they wear, who did not pay for their tickets and who are only attending because Marlboro had sent them free tickets vouchers in the mail; each Marlboro 'guest' gets a red hat when they exchange their voucher for a ticket at the track.
Example:
The crowd at that last crapwagon race was pathetic! The track has 100,000 seats but the place was only quarter full of gomers, if that, and most of those were members of the red hat brigade!
