tanking, in terms of sport, would be used to describe a bad performance
Tanking is the act of
giving up a match or "throwing it away", losing intentionally or not
competing.
Example:
I
tanked my match so bad!
She was
tanking her match.
He tanked the match after losing the first set.
They tanked their match because they got angry with the referee/
umpire.
