FRIEND
A person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A person who would never intentionally hurt you, lie to you,
deceive you, manipulate you, and who takes great care to be kind to you, honest with you,
dependable and loyal. Someone who you trust without question because he/she has never given you any reason not to trust. Someone
you enjoy being around and look forward to seeing. Someone who would sacrifice him/herself for you.

someone whom is not "
technically" your boyfriend/girlfriend, but whom seems to fill the traditional
roles of such a position. Sort of a boyfriend/girlfriend who is not recieving
benefits.
Example:
I'm
allowed to go out with "
Guy B" because "
Guy A" is just my friend friend.
Friend of a friend

A person who is not
connected to you by
friendship, but is connected to you by being
a friend of someone who you are connected in friendship with.
Example:
Daniel is not my friend, he is
Jack's friend. Jack is my friend, so Daniel is
a friend of a friend.

A heterosexual friend of a homosexual. Adapted from the term "
Friends of Dorothy". While a heterosexual cannot (by definition) be a "Friend", they can of course be a confidante to someone who is a "Friend". There is, however, a
distinction to be made vs. "
friend of a friend", so you have to listen for the capital F.
