A term used by conservative internet users to
favourably describe their own sociopolitical viewpoints; at its most basic level, it means to have been made aware of something obscure or forbidden.
It originates from 1999 film “The Matrix,” ironically written and directed by two transgender women, in a scene where the protagonist is offered a choice between a literal blue pill to “wake up…and believe whatever he wants to believe” and a red pill to “stay in Wonderland, …be shown deep the rabbit hole goes,” and join a rebellion against the
simulated reality he lives in. The red pill itself is believed to have been been modeled after red Premarin-brand tablets, popular as estrogen-boosting medication for transgender women in the 1990s.
Has exactly the same
denotation and exactly the opposite connotation as “woke.”

Someone who thinks of themselves as "woke", the phrase originating from the 1999 movie "The Matrix".
People who use this term to describe themselves think that being a "
red pill" is being someone who is fighting "the system" in a war, thinking that they're warriors of Truth.
People who use this term to describe others use it derogatorily, because in the Matrix,
the Oracle states that she created
the red pill and the "real world" because certain people were fundamentally unable to get along with system. So, she created the red pill in order to give something to do to the people who simply don't want to get along with others.
Being a red pill doesn't mean fighting for truth, being a red pill simply means being the kind of person who needs to fight others in order to feel fulfilled. The choice was not truth over lies, the choice was simply whether or not you "feel a need", as
Morpheus effectively put it, to fight.

the often long-lasting, painful feeling of some boys/men ("mostly white and/or straight") when they finally realize the ridiculous and unfair double standards that exist for white women in western society, ultimately because of the oppressive structure of society that many people term "the patriarchy" but that is actually rooted in basic human biology and the self-evident reality that life isn't fair
Contrary to liberal/
authleft stereotypes, NOT everyone who experiences
redpill rage is not affiliated with the misogynistic Redpill or Incel Community. It is simply the realization of the belief that fuels modern feminism, that because male government leaders from centuries past were sexists who oppressed women, ALL male homosapiens, especially "
straight white males" (the ultimate oppressors), are required to live in constant fear of being physically and emotionally hurt, abused, or even killed by women and never being able to defend themselves, just for being born with a Y-chromosome, because God forbid we can all just forgive each other, let the past die in the past, and treat everyone equally.

double standards like these are why I have this Redpill Rage problem. What do you think?
Therapist: Hmmm... Have you considered that life isn't fair.

Therapist: Well, there's your problem. Now man up and get the hell out of my office.
People can overcome the Redpill Rage by accepting that double standards will always exist between fundamentally different groups of people,
manning up, understanding that LIFE ISN'T FAIR, and not persisting in the toxic masculinity and sexism that is a primary cause of the "oppressors" being deprived of their basic human rights in our presently
gynocentric society. When someone says "Kill all men," for instance, realize that there's absolutely nothing you can do because you are an "oppressor."
