A term that was created by black people to describe people of color who reject their own culture and history (consciously or subconsciously) to fit into the "mainstream".

What a black person is called, when they either look or act white, and their "blackness" is washed away, leaving white, they can also be seen as an OREO.
Example:

Brainwashed by apple into thinking apple products are actually worth the exorbitantly high price and that they are superior to everything in creation. Most people who are whitewashed come to rely on the simplicity of their apple branded products, and as such can never be rehabilitated to use something more complex, for instance a mouse with 2 buttons.

A derogatory term used to describe a minority who has assimilated with western society. The "White washed" person does not necessarily abandon his/her own culture but rather embrace others beside his/her own. Some people take it as a compliment while others take it as an insult.
WhiteWashed
Someone who doesn’t act their race from racist stereotypes. But this is not true. From someone doesn’t speak their native language that doesn’t mean they’re whitewashed.

Jane Doe: I’m Mexican but I don’t speak Spanish or listen to Spanish music

A term that now has also come to refer to the entertainment industry's attempt at making ethnic characters more appealing to the white, money-spending masses by making exotic characters less ethnic and more "white."

Thanks to commercial whitewashing, every token "black" girl on tv has become a light skinned black girl. This does not bode well for dark skinned black actresses.
