good luck
by Horace Wimp on Jan 13, 2008 21:29:37
Simple phrase used to
catch out British spies or agents when masquerading as the enemy. When wished 'Good luck' in English by a foreign agent they find it literally impossible not to reply with 'Thanks
old bean!' or something similar.
Most famously used in
The Great Escape.
Example:
Hans Nazihausen: Halt! Sprechen sie Englisch?
John
Smithson: Nein! Der English sind Schwein-poopen.
Hans: Haha, Ja. Good luck.
John: Thanks
old bean!
Hans: AHA!
John:
Oh bother.

"good luck with that"
by Urban Dictionary on Nov 11, 2006 23:09:16
This shows that courtesy is
not dead. It's a very elegant urban code for, "I DONT CARE" but more accurately,"I REALLY
DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK".
In some communities it means "YEAH,
LIKE THAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN". So if something actually does happen you can never be called out and say it never happen.
Example:
expl.Friend 1. I would like to study computers. There is
good money in it and you dont have to work so hard.
Friend 2.You aren't logic
minded enough to study computers,"
good luck with that"!

The act of having sex with another person in order to wish
said person good
fortune. usually done before
exams, departures, or future confrontations with someone/something. Plus it rhymes. :)
Example:
Rndm Chick: Fuck, I'm totally gonna fail my driving exam tomorrow. Boyfriend: Well I think you'll do fine, but a
good luck fuck couldn't hurt right? *
5 Minutes Later* Rndm Chick: Im so failing....
