The word leather can be used to describe the state of a male's penis between flaccid and boner. Adam Carolla invented the word in high school, while working towards a degree in ceramics. The term "leather" was originally used to describe the point to which a piece of clay becomes too hard to mold or shape. Carolla first heard the word in a Ceramics 101 course in high school.
